An exciting opportunity has arisen to join MHM's new employment improvement project integrated with wellbeing support for those who live or work within the West End of Newcastle. This is a new and exciting pilot project working in partnership with JET.  The aim is to provide core employment support and mental health support specifically targeting those who have been impacted by Covid-19. With an office based in Newcastle, the caseload will live across the West End and so a full driving licence and access to a vehicle would be beneficial.

As an Employment Recovery Worker you will be required to provide a high quality, recovery focused service to clients who have a range of mental health and complex needs including; substance misuse, learning disabilities and physical health needs. The service will proactively target the BAME community.

Previous experience of supporting people with a mental health need to gain and retain employment is essential. Experience of partnership working, working with a wide range of employers and an understanding of the benefits system would also be an advantage.

You will have an excellent understanding of community and training resources and the ability to engage clients in their local community. You will have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and will be able to demonstrate a proactive and positive attitude.

You will be qualified at least to NVQ Level 3 standard or equivalent and will have the demonstrated skills and ability to motivate others and help them to identify and overcome barriers.

MHM want to ensure our workforce reflects the local community and would encourage applicants from all backgrounds with relevant experience to apply.
