What will I be doing?
Our Day Support Centre at Hylton Road, Sunderland needs volunteers to help engage people with dementia in conversation, and other activities. Tasks can include serving food, talking to members or supporting members to engage in activities such as board games, pool, table tennis, craft projects.
You will be able to show empathy and patience and have good listening and communication skills, but no formal qualifications or experience are necessary. You will need to be willing to undertake Alzheimer's Society training prior to commencing your volunteering role.


How much time do you expect me to commit?
The Day Support Centre operates between 10.30am and 3pm on weekdays. Ideally you would be able to commit to one full day per week, but we can be flexible about start and end times.
