Funding Contest for Digital Innovation in Data (UK)

IC tomorrow which is a Technology Strategy Board programme that stimulates innovation and economic growth in the digital sector, has announced that it is running the £125,000 'Digital Innovation Contest - Data' to encourage digital innovation in data.
Winners will receive up to £25,000 each in funding and have the opportunity to trial their solution with the relevant contest challenge partner, including:
• Ingram Content Group
• EE Limited
• Ordnance Survey
• Birmingham Community Healthcare Trust
• The British Library.
IC tomorrow are looking for great ideas that address one of the five contest challenges. These are:
• Processing data efficiently
• Commercialisation of mobile data
• Geospatial data mapping
• Data visualisation and analytic decision making
• Value of public-domain data.
The contest is open to EU-based start-ups and SMEs; it is not necessary to have an existing app or service to apply, or to be currently active in the challenge sectors.
Application deadline for applications is 12 noon on the 7th May 2014.
