Direct Payments Employers Misinformed
Some direct payments employers have received a letter from 10 Downing Street advising them about a £2,000 Employment Allowance (which is the Government’s reduction of NI contributions for small employers). In fact you cannot claim the allowance if you employ someone for personal, household or domestic work, such as a nanny, au pair, chauffeur, gardener, care support worker. Right to ‘ask’ for personal health budgets begins
From 1 April 2014 people with complex health care needs have had the right to ask for a personal health budget. NHS England states that the budgets give people more independence over how their healthcare money is spent, be that on carers to provide intensive help at home, equipment to improve quality of life or therapies like counselling.
